Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026.
By using URLQRCODE (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms are kept deliberately short and plain — the site is a simple client-side utility and most of the complexity of typical online services doesn't apply.
What URLQRCODE is
URLQRCODE is a free, web-based tool that (a) decodes QR codes from an image, a pasted screenshot, or a live camera feed, and (b) generates QR codes from text, URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, and similar content. All processing runs inside your browser. Nothing you upload, type, or scan is transmitted to us. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe anyone else's rights. You will not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or probe the site for vulnerabilities in ways that could harm it or other users. Responsible security research through our security.txt channel is welcome.
You are solely responsible for the content you decode or generate. Creating a QR code that links to, or decoding one that reveals, content you are not authorized to distribute or access is your responsibility, not ours.
Account, registration, payment
There are none. The site is free to use without signing up. It is supported by advertising.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without any warranty — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do our best to keep the site available and working, but we don't promise it will always be available, free of bugs, or that the decoded or generated results will be correct in every case.
QR codes can encode malicious URLs. URLQRCODE reveals what is inside a QR code, but does not assess the safety of the destination. Always use your own judgment before opening a link, joining a Wi-Fi network, or saving a contact card from a decoded QR code.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, URLQRCODE and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profit, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site, whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
Intellectual property
The site design, copy, and original code are © URLQRCODE. The decoder uses the jsQR library by Cosmo Wolfe (MIT license). The generator uses qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase (MIT license). The QR Code specification is a trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
Third-party services
The site uses Google AdSense for advertising and Google Analytics for traffic statistics. Your use of the site is also subject to Google's Terms of Service where their technologies are involved. See our Privacy Policy for the full list and your choices.
Changes to the site and these terms
We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the site at any time. We may also update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the site operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
